If anyone’s ever told you it was easy, they’re lying. I’m not one for cynicism so let me begin by saying that with each passing day of sobriety the weight of it all does seem to lift for what feels like a true moment of relief and reassurance; that the path I am on is a virtuous and worthy one but it is a path nonetheless that I have to WANT to walk. I must fight for my 24 hours tooth and nail and I must never forget that I don’t have to walk it all alone.
