Hello Darkness my old ‘friend’
There was a brief moment of time when you served a purpose in my life. You may have numbed the pain inside me and I believed that was what I wanted. You helped me escape and promised to keep the pain away. And you did for awhile, but you also numbed me from everything else in life. I am now realizing that the pain is still there, you needed it ‘alive’ to keep me trapped in the darkness. No more. Give me the pain, give me the hurt, but also give me the joy and happiness that you stole from me. I will bring it all to the light so it can finally heal. I know if I can heal inside then I can heal on the outside. I want more out of my life, I’m tired of running, so Darkness my old ‘friend’ we must say goodbye. See ya!
