819 days ago, I made the decision to put down Big Alcohol. I chose ME. Did I think that making the decision to no longer pick up a drink would be easy? At first, yes. The mental perspective on my own sobriety has changed drastically over the past two years. Even over the 7 months.
There is so much growth that takes place. An abundance of un-learning and re-learning. Along with re-wiring our brains to do life differently. I am the first person in my immediate family (on my side) to embark on this adventure of recovery. I cannot imagine my life today as it was just before September 12, 2020. This was during a time that COVID was running rampant and I chose to leave my previous job and be a full-time stay-at-home mom to my little girl and boy. During this time, I also chose to keep my oldest at home, doing distance-learning for over half the school year.
Change is unavoidable. We take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. \ud83e\udd1c\ud83c\udffb\ud83d\udda4\ud83e\udd1b\ud83c\udffb
